Water is critical to all sportsgrass. Water quenches the grass and delivers nutrients applied by way of fertilisers.

Too little water and the grass will not thrive. Too much and the roots will not develop deeply, thus reducing the lateral strength of the turf and reducing the ability of the grass to draw water from deeper in the soil structure.

Over watering also wastes the energy required to pump the water through the irrigation system and the excess water flushes away nutrients, further wasting time and money and is also potentially harmful to the environment.

AQUAFLEX Soil Moisture Meter

AQUAFLEX is a unique sensor that measures both soil moisture and soil temperature.

The AQUAFLEX sensor is a 3m (10’) long flexible tape that can be laid in soil in a variety of configurations to suit the application.

Soil moisture is averaged over a large volume to avoid problems with spot readings. This is extremely important given the variability of soil (even in well prepared plots) and non uniformity of water application etc.

AQUAFLEX measures where it matters – it tells you what is happening in the soil!
